Lynn Imlay is a great asset to the Sunset Ridge Middle School community. Students are his number one priority. As the school Media Specialist, Lynn has worked to make the Media Center a place where students can come to learn and have a good time. He advocates for students. The best example of this is his work with our ‘Falcon of the Quarter’ recognition program. Under his guidance, the school changed the manner in which students are honored for their good grades and citizenship. Instead of putting on an assembly, the parents, students, and family members are invited to the school for a breakfast where the students are recognized for their achievement. The parents have commented that they appreciate the new format because it is a more personal and meaningful experience for both the student and the family.
Lynn has been a great help in making media more accessible to everyone. Whether by adding new books or technology to the Media Center, Lynn has helped to create a place where teachers want to bring their classes to study, do research in the computer lab, take reading tests, and check out books. He strives to have the best resources available for school use. Lynn has been a great boon for us all.
Lynn loves collaborating with teachers, students, and the administration to enhance the educational process. He has made scavenger hunts where students follow clues in various books to answer questions related to the core curriculum. If a teacher has a need and the Media Center can be of help, he is quick to offer support and assistance. We are blessed to have him. He has retired once, and who knows when he will hang up the books for good, so get to know him while you can. In Lynn Imlay, adult and student alike, one will find a true friend, mentor, and professional educator. But don’t just take this author’s word for it, come on up to the Sunset Ridge Media Center and experience it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
