Ms. Ericksen is our Falconer of the Week!
*Describe a time you saw/heard Lisbeth advocate for a student.Lis works hard to help struggling students correct their behavior. Last year we saw improvement in a student with an idea she had. She gave the student a 3×5 card each day with five tear strips. If the student talked out in any of our three classes, we removed one of the tear strips. At the end of the day, the student could take the card back to Lis, and she gave him one piece of candy for each tear strip he had left. It was very motivating for him!
*Describe an assignment or activity that engaged students in a meaningful way.Lis has an agriculture activity where the students grow grass in the classroom. We also had our first field trip this year, where we took all of the 7th graders to This is the Place Heritage Park. Each group of students enjoyed four activities, including pulling handcarts, spending time in a hogan and tepee, watching a blacksmith at work, listening to a mountain man demonstration, and attending a pioneer school. Many of the students were also able to ride the train around the park.
*Describe a time this teacher added to the collaborative efforts of her fellow teachers.Lis is an excellent team player. She is a dream to work with, and is always willing to rearrange schedules and work with us.
*What is Lisbeth’s favorite snack (candy bar, etc) just in case students or teachers would like to shower this Falconer of the Week with their snack of choice?I know she is a fan of chocolate!
