Each 7th grader has set a goal to write a 15000-50000 word novel in a month’s time. Is it crazy? Yes. Is it Possible? Definitely. Will it be easy? No. Thousands of people all over the world are writing for a project called NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). For one month a year (November), writers all around the word drop everything and frantically write. It is not about craft or plot or having anything brilliant to say, it is about finishing a novel. How many 13 and 14 year-olds can say “I have finished my first novel”? Not many, but after this month, a few more Sunset Ridge Falcolns will be added to the list.
